How it all began…

RTC was founded in late 2014 by a group of 9 friends who all met whilst performing in Durham University’s Musicals society; ‘DULOG’.

DULOG prided itself on bringing together people with a passion for musical theatre. A passion that allowed them to produce shows to a near-professional standard. And a passion many haven’t had a chance to use in recent years.

Whilst a large proportion of that group went on to pursue professional acting careers, there was always a group of alumni in London who chose other ways of life.

Although RTC was founded by Durham members, and Durham alumni make up a large proportion of our company, since 2022 we have taken steps to open up the society to like-minded individuals looking to dust off their tap shoes, warm up their vocal chords and start taking to the stage once more, if you want to join please check out our membership page.

Our Mission

Rollers Theatre Company is a Durham alumni group who believe in creating high-quality musical theatre in a fun and inclusive way. We don't think that a career away from the West End means a pastime you love also has to end. So we bring together like-minded Londoners from all walks of life, united by the ambition to stage fantastic musicals, to ensure there's money left in the bank for future generations of 'Rollers' and to have a great time along the way.

We can't abide cliques or arrogance, but value energy, talent and commitment. From the first rehearsal to the final bow, we want all our members to go home (or to the pub) with a smile on their face and a thirst to come back for more.

And our ultimate aim is just as simple; to leave the audience with the same passion for musical theatre that runs through the heart of the company.

Meet the exec

Daisy Lamb - President

She/Her

Daisy graduated in 2012 and currently works in Operations for an Asset Manager. Given the lack of jazz hands and singing in her day job she joined Rollers and has been involved in every show since the very beginning! As President, she leads the exec to ensure the society runs smoothly so we can keep putting on fantastic and fun shows for our members and audiences alike!

Dan Gosselin - Secretary

He/Him

Dan graduated in 2015 as a Master of Engineering, as well as having a cheeky PGCE from King College London. Since leaving he has worked for TfL, been a freelance production manager, and is now Head of Science at a central London academy. He has been equally as consistent in his involvement with Rollers taking up roles of performer, producer, and designer, but is delighted to settle down into the role of secretary. As Secretary Dan deals with the day to day, sending emails, managing membership and doing all the admin.

Henry Winlow - Treasurer

He/Him

After dabbling in a music degree in Durham Henry made the obvious switch to Economics, graduating in 2016, giving the perfect background for managing money for a musical theatre company! While never performing on stage Henry has thoroughly enjoyed producing theatre both in and out of Durham and has loved the opportunity to support RTC alongside his day job as a Financial Services consultant.

Russell Lamb - Projects Lead

He/Him

Russell is one of the many geography graduates from Durham. Leaving in 2015, he joined RTC in 2017 after betraying his palatinate allegiance to do a masters. As Project Lead, his role is to be the pivot between the production teams and the exec to make sure that all RTC ventures run as smoothly as possible. By day he is a civil servant, by night he’s probably trying to grow his hair for an RTC show.

Izzy Horler - Publicity Secretary

She/Her

Izzy graduated from Durham in 2016 with a degree in Psychology, and now works in the civil service as a social researcher. She joined Rollers in 2017, after a year starved of musical theatre. Desperate to be involved, she commuted from Oxford for rehearsals for Urinetown, ahead of moving to London (for work or Rollers, you decide). She is looking forward to publicising upcoming Rollers productions to our lovely audiences and getting back to rehearsals.

Izzy Osborne - Socials & Social Media Secretary

She/Her

Izzy graduated in 2015 with a degree in Philosophy and French, and has been a keen Roller ever since. She now works in financial technology, doing international expansion and strategy. She is honoured to be part of the exec, where she can hone her passions - musicals, instagram, and organised fun.

Elissa Churchill - Futures Secretary

She/Her

Elissa graduated in 2015 with a degree in Modern Languages. She went on to train at the Royal Academy of Music, and spent a few years as a jobbing actor before a pandemic caused a slight change in direction. She now works in CRM, and after years of cheering from the sidelines, directed her first show for Rollers in October 2022 - a rip-roaring rendition of Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5’. She is thrilled to be joining the exec as Futures Secretary, and looks forward to doing everything she can to make sure that Rollers is still here in twenty years’ time.

Meg Osborne - Resources Lead

She/Her

Meg graduated in 2016 and now works as an editor in children’s publishing. She joined RTC in 2018 and since then has enjoyed playing many diverse roles, from gangster to eighties mom to secretary to foul-mouthed factory worker. As resources lead she is excited to work with the production team to source shiny new props, costumes, scenery and tech to make the performers look and sound fabulous.
